Turkey Costume

Turkeys are symbolic of Thanksgiving but they are great costumes for mahy other occassions as well.  and even the appearance can be imitated through these costumes. With a little imagination and some originallity these favored cosumes can be made at home.

The turkey costume ideas are generally not used, but Thanksgiving often provides an opportunity to dress up as a turkey. It can be made at home using a garbage bag and lots of brown paper. A little white paper along with a string or bowtie is useful in completing the turkey costume. The structure of the turkey’s legs can be prepared with the brown paper.

White paper is glued to the ends for making it look like bones attached to the legs. Holes are cut out in the garbage bag for free movement of the arms and legs. Once the outfit is prepared, the individual can step into it and the bag is then stuffed with brown paper.

A bowtie or string is used for tying the bag around the neck. The legs are then attached to the body. This kind of an outfit is best suited for children, although adults can also try it.

To become the center of attraction at a Thanksgiving or Halloween party, one can use the turkey costume ideas and dress up in an adult outfit that looks like the original turkey. It consists of a one piece polyester outfit in brown, orange and tan colors.

A costume body is included and it has wings constructed on the back. Legs with shoe covers are also provided and the body has a long neck that makes an individual look like the bird. 

A turkey hat is placed over the head and it has eyes, ears and a beak to resemble a real turkey but much cuter.   • Turkeys spend their nights (sunset to sunrise) in their roosts on top of trees.
  • A turnkey’s field of vision is around 270 degrees.
  • Turkeys can run at speeds of up to 20 miles per hour and they can fly at 55 miles per hour within seconds.
    • Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be America’s national bird.
