Insect or Fly Costume Ideas
Ideas for fly or insect costumes are mainly used for various costume parties and these outfits can be easily made at a low price.
Using black clothing and a few accessories is enough to create this look. The accessories can either be purchased from thrift stores or made at home using a little bit of creativity. The wings, eyes and antenna need to be attached to the body along with the costume to create the appearance of a fly.
All black clothing in the form of a black shirt and trouser can be used along with a pair of gloves which complete the outfit. The ideas for fly costumes are incomplete without the usage of wings. The wings can be easily created at home using some wire.
The wire can be bent roughly to form the shape of a tear. One or two pieces of wire can be used. If two pieces of wire are used, they must be attached at the center, with the points of the tear facing each other.

For wearing the wings, two pieces of elastic bands should be tied to form loops and they must be attached in a way that will allow the arms and shoulders to pass through comfortably. Glow-in the dark sparkles can also be used for decorating the veins. This completes the fly wings which can be easily used along with the dress.

Wrapping the pipe cleaners or tinsels once or twice around a hair band will make it easy to wear on top of the head. Small pieces of cardboard can also be attached at the ends of each antenna. Glow-in-the-dark stickers applied to the front and back sides of these pieces of cardboard can make nice enhancements to the outfit and they cause the veins and the tips of the antenna to glow in the dark.
To create the perfect fly look, dark gray or bottle green goggles can be worn over the eyes. Weird looking eye glasses can also add a nice touch. Using imagination and creativity can help in creating the perfect look for the fly’s eyes. The goggles can be made at home by using circular wire and covering it with bottle green cellophane. In conclusion, fly costume ideas are limited only by one’s creativity and they can be used as unique outfits to be worn at any number of costume parties.
