Although nun outfits are worn by adult females and girls who serve others mostly in the Catholic religion, being a nun can also pertain to those women who serve in other religions like Orthodox Christians, Taoists, Anglicans, Lutherans and Buddhists.

The female version of a monk is called a nun. While the monk lives is a monastery, nuns live in a convent or a nunnery. Both dedicate their lives to their God and to the service of others whether it’s the poor, the sick or the needy. Sisters also often become teachers, nurses and fill other positions necessary to run their convent or school or hospital and their outfit can vary according to the Church Order to which they belong.
