Nun Outfit Halloween Costumes
Although nun outfits are worn by adult females and girls who serve others mostly in the Catholic religion, being a nun can also pertain to those women who serve in other religions like Orthodox Christians, Taoists, Anglicans, Lutherans and Buddhists.
This does not mean you have to portray a conservative, pious woman when you want to portray one for Halloween, Mardi Gras or your back yard costume party. We have a couple of nun habits featured below that will knock your socks off when you see them.
New for this season, both can be worn by teen, toddler & infant girls or sexy adult women and one can hide a man underneath the clothing as well. Talk about shock value. Not only will others do a double take when they see you walk in, they will wonder why they didn’t think of getting one of these costumes themselves. You won’t look like the Mother Superior or sister they remember, whether or not you wear a plus size. Being naughty can be fun.
Plus Size Nun Habit Costume
Available in and Adult Plus Size: 16W to 24W
While wearing this Plus Size Nun Habit, we know you’re not about to take vows of poverty, chastity or obedience. You are planning to have a fun time wearing this cute black mini dress with long bell shaped sleeves, accessorized with the recognizable white hood and black veil which would normally cover all of your hair. Surprisingly you’ll find that the dress has ribbon embellishments on the side.
Of course you will not be wearing sturdy flat black shoes with old fashioned laces; you’ll wear your own sexy black pumps with this flirty outfit. There is absolutely no reason you can’t wear a medallion sporting your favorite jewel and earrings, to boot. A loose pair of black silky shorts underneath will be perfect. This dress can be washed so that you can wear it again for other parties during the year, not only for Halloween or sell it at a flea market. Someone will love buying it cheaper than when it was new.
Sinister Nun Costume Outfit
Available in One Size Fits Most Adults
This really is a costume that’s worthy of the name Sinister Nun Costume outfit. It’s very unlikely that you will see another at the party you plan to attend.
Guaranteed to cause double takes, gasps and lots of flash bulbs, this two piece black nun’s habit will completely cover your hair and the dreadful looking face mask will hide whether you are a man or a woman underneath it. A medallion that has metal skulls on it and a pair of gloves to hide your hands completes the gruesome look.
You can wear your own comfy black shoes and socks or hose, lower your voice, and no one will know who you are until you are ready for an unveiling. This costume can be washed for future wear when perhaps you’ll portray the old fashioned nun, skipping wearing the face mask. You can wear a long chain around your neck that has a regular cross dangling on it and make a belt out of thin rope and tie it around your waist. Remember that nuns don’t wear makeup but a bit of blush won’t hurt. Whatever you decide, you’re sure to have some fun with this particular presentation. Enjoy.
The female version of a monk is called a nun. While the monk lives is a monastery, nuns live in a convent or a nunnery. Both dedicate their lives to their God and to the service of others whether it’s the poor, the sick or the needy. Sisters also often become teachers, nurses and fill other positions necessary to run their convent or school or hospital and their outfit can vary according to the Church Order to which they belong. Many a proud mother has given up her daughter to the religious life.
You may want to buy one or both of the costumes noted above. They’re not cheap but they’re not really expensive either, and right now they’re on sale. The sexy tunic and head band in plus sizes can be worn by other women in the family for other costume parties. They’re quality items that will last a long time. I don’t know how you can top the habit that comes with the face mask. Adults will have a blast fooling their friends and families. Just tell them to call you sister Cool and hand them a CD featuring the Singing Nun.
